Wow, where do I start with this article on the Pennsylvania state series
race at Westmoreland BMX, I'll start at the end. 43 action packed motos
on a beautiful day in late spring. We had an awesome chinese auction,
great food and some of the best racing anywhere. The Pro/am was amazing
with Kyle McRory taking the top spot, and Matt Sedlak doing his wild
antics on the mic calling the race. Great to see so many people enjoying
the track, from striders to pro's, everyone seemed to have a great time.
It took alot of work from alot of people to pull this off but we came
out great. Tom Truxell, Nick Dawson and Ean Slater did the majority of
the on track work to keep the track smooth and fast. With Jeff Slater at
the gate switch and Chris Palombo and Lizz Niebar in staging, the
starting hill ran like clockwork. Becca Haas did a great job with
putting together the chinese auction, even though I didnt win anything.
And we can't forget the people in concessions, Marji Jo Patton, Cindy
Burns, Kristy Thalman Amy Mitchell and Michelle Hamilton amongst others
keeping the food and drinks flowing. And gotta give a big thanks to Tina
Kilgore who not only ran the 50/50, but more importantly made an
emergency hot dog and buns run to the local Giant Eagle when we ran low
in the second round of motos. Everyone at Westmoreland BMX knows the
trouble we would have been in with Chris Palombo if we would have ran
out of hot dogs. The registration ladies did a great job with a tough
task, we would all like to thank Desiree Palombo, Amy Slater and Penny
Richter for there fine job in registration, one of the toughest jobs in
putting together a successful racing program. Also have to point out
Jeff Slater and Bill Mitchell for round up the tables and all their hard
work during assembly and teardown, but that doesn't let them off the
hook for the joke they played on us. Better look out you two, Chris
Palombo and I will come up with payback. Thanks, Dan.

to help out the new riders.
The Northmoreland Park BMX track is open daily to the public during
normal park hours, but only when the track is in good dry condition for
riding, please do not ride on the track if the dirt is soft or wet, this
will ruin the track surface which we work hard to keep in great condition
which makes for better smoother riding, thank you. Anyone wishing to bring a
bike and try out the track may do so at your own risk. A helmet is required!
